New Year's eve

Current song playing on Windows Media Player: CINTA by Misha Omar and Jaclyn Victor. The theme song of the movie “Cinta”.Nice movie. I had tears in my eyes, that explains something, doesn’t it?

I’ve meant to update about what I did during New Year’s eve, but the connection is a bitch lately, can’t even access to my emails. (!!!!) So, had to resort to writing down in Microsoft Words before transferring this into blogspot.

Wait, the song has changed now.“Dealova” by Dewa. Go get the song somewhere. I can’t stop playing this on my iPod.=)

Alright, so moving on..31st of December 2006.New Year’s eve, which happens to be Izzati’s birthdate too.So, she invited us over to her place to celebrate her birthday cum Hari Raya Korban which fell on the same day.As usual, everytime she calls, I would be the face to go right?
The people who were able to make it to her place were Dai, Me, Lydia, Mel, Meiling, Niza, and Millicent.
Goh was supposed to come, but then, due to Family dinners, she wasn’t there. So, upon arriving to her place, everyone’s eyes were glued to the tv set, watching High School Musical. It was rather rude to go to people’s house, and then watch people’s big big plasma tv right?
So, we diverted the attention to Izzati’s good food, cooked by her mum, of course! We always have the same food, every Raya, so I knew what to expect.
Yes, now you know why I can never get slim.I always have nice food during festivals here.(Not that I am complaining eh?)

Since Izzat’s birthdate falls on the 31st of December, we made a statement which kinda fits into her part.
“ Yesterday Izzati was 18 (30th December 2006), Today she’s 19 (31st December2006), Tomorrow she will be 20! (1st of January 2006) ”
--Get it?!!! It was kinda funny though when we said that.

Anyway, we didn’t hang around her place for long, as we had prior engagement. So, we bid her farewell, and left. We, meaning ME, Mel, Lydia and Meiling.
So, I went back to my place, got my bag, and left to the Oldtown Kopitiam, the Pasir Putih branch to meet up with the next group of people.[Maylee, MeiYenn, SookMin, Geraldine, Wei Ai, WaiYen, Michelle Tan, Foo Yine, TzyYin, Jin Shyan]Came together with me were Meiling and Mel.

We were probably the attraction of the kopitiam, I think.
Upon arriving at the place, 3 tables were combined to make room for the 10 of us.We took our seats, while the rest took their orders. We did a lot of catching up, considering we only sat there for about 15 minutes.
Everyone talked so loudly that it was not surprising, if the people were able to listen to what we were saying.
I bet the whole Kopitiam knows who ANGKHIAN is now.
I guess, Guides do talk rather loudly. Hehhe.
One thing I must add though, sixth formers look rather feminine now. The way they dressed and the way they looked..Whoa!!(Is perm-ed hair the “in” look now by the way?)
We left early, told ya I was going to be busy eh?
So, Meiling, Mel and I went off early, leaving them to do their little countdown in Kopitiam.

Jiang Mun was already waiting for us at Meiling’s place.
The plan was that we would be staying overnight at Meiling’s house to do alil countdown session and yes, drinking la.
So, Jiang Mun was overruled and she had to go get food for all of us.. Muahahhaha..(the only Convent Girl ma)
Nolar! Just that we had to go to so many places, and she was almost free la..so she went to buy food lor.
Food that were stuffed into our little tummies were Ikan Bakar ( Jiang kept insisting it is “Ikan Panggang” ) ,Satay, Nyonya Kuih, Lala. Mel’s mum was being nice to fried us noodles and nuggets.
Yes, we were stuffed that night.
There were a few bottles of booze that night: Baileys, Jack Daniel’s and Swing.

We ate, drank and laughed. We even did two countdowns due to several unforeseen reasons. We had a pre-countdown session wor..It was a mistake as we countdown following Taiwan’s show. It was a big mess up..so, in the end, we did the countdown twice.

We then, proceeded to a little card game, which involved a little money.
Black Jack, played using bets of RM0.10, or RM0.50.
It was fun though, even it was only 4 of us.
A little while later that morning, Lydia came to join us, and Jiang Mun kept ushering her to eat non-stop.
When Lydia came, we stopped our little card game, and started to talk abit.
I was then, rolling on Meiling’s mattress, feeling sleepy. And my face was all flushing..haha..nope, I didn’t throw up at all.
Everyone was getting tired, but continued talking.
Meiling was the first to give up, and went to sleep while the rest continued yakking.
Beans were spilled, secrets were out.
I think the booze must have gotten to my head then.=)
Lydia, Mel, Jiang Mun and I played Chor Dai Dee, waiting for the time to crawl away.
No, the time didn’t crawl actually, it flew past quite fast as a matter of fact.

The initial plan was we would wake up for Dimsum in the morning at 6, but we talked till 5.30 in the morning.
No one, except for Meiling were sleeping, so we were in doubts whether to go for dimsum.
Most of them were relunctant to go, and wanted to sleep but I, I PESTERED everyone to go.Hahha.
Nolar, everyone stopped talking and cleared the place about 5.45 a.m. and then continued to getting ready for Dimsum at 6 a.m.

Jiang Mun was being a jakun that morning.
She kept asking Lydia to drive her Yellow Truck to Dimsum.Haha, it was quite a funny scene, seeing that she has never been on one before, and us, the rest of the MGS girls were used to seeing Lydia in her Yellow Truck right?..
She climbed up to her truck, with Meiling and stood up.She could see on the top of the truck.
So, the 5 of us, headed to Ming Court for Breakfast at 6.am.

They were skeptical about the Ming Court being opened at such early hours..but I kept assuring them that people are up as early as 5 for dimsum.
Yes, we then arrived at Ming Court, surprised to see that it was already half-filled.
We took our seats, and went on eating the normal dimsum dish.
The dimsum didn’t taste as nice, and the portions were small.
The bill was expensive though.

We were so beria that we then, went to Foh San for a second round of breakfast.
Hahha, we only ate 4 dishes in Fohsan.

After breakfast, we went back to Mel’s place, and Lydia went home, leaving the 4 of us.
We quickly arranged the beds, so that we would be able to sleep well before leaving Meiling’s place.
When everyone was finally settled, I suddenly made a statement saying that I couldn’t sleep, was feeling full.
We ended up not sleeping then.

We stayed up, talking about things.
Things which are not to be mentioned here.

We only left at 1 a.m.
24 hours of not sleeping.

It was a different New Year’s eve celebration this year.
Something different, something unforgettable.
We have to do this EVERY YEAR.

It was fun.
*Thanks Meiling for the place.
Thanks everyone, for the company.
